Hilltop is a multi-aged licensed childcare facility located on Bowen Island.
We offer full-time and part-time childcare Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm.
Hilltop Daycare is located at 1301 Scarborough Road, on the East side of Bowen Island. The daycare is located on the ground floor of owner, Lauren Cotter’s, family home.
Hilltop has its own separate entrance and outdoor play area. The space has been inspired by the abundance of outdoor play space for the children, and in the warmer summer months, outdoor play will be most of our day. Learning through playing and exploring all types of materials is our philosophy. Asking questions such as “why?” creates exciting explorations in our classroom and leads the children on quests through playful learning.

There is an additional $25 monthly fee to cover material costs at the daycare. Families whose child requires diapers and wipes will pay an additional diaper fee of $30 a month

Meet Lauren! She is the owner and primary care provider at Hilltop Daycare. Lauren has been passionately employed in the childcare industry for over a decade. Upon completing the Early Childhood Education program at Capilano University in North Vancouver, she moved to Germany looking to broaden her horizons as an au pair for 1 year. 1 year turned into nearly 10, as she met her husband Dominik and together they welcomed their 2 children into the world, Niklas and Ellie. Lauren spent the remainder of her German career teaching in various Munich Kindergartens, and ended her career managing a childcare facility providing care for 50 families. As Lauren and Dominik decided another adventure was in order, and 1 year ago they packed up their German life and moved back to Lauren’s hometown, Bowen Island. She is very excited to be raising her own children on the same island where she herself grew up. Hilltop Daycare brings her full circle, and she cannot wait to share her years of experience and love for children with the community so dear to her heart.
